Brian & Maureen Collier

"Thanks for arranging the holiday for us everything went without a hitch except Air Madagascar changing the return flight but it gave us a bit longer at the resort. If I had to nit pick then the only thing we didnt really like was the Nosy Be Hotel - the food was not good but it was only for one night. There is a new Hotel opened actually in the fishing village where you depart from to get to Nosy Iranja - I think it is called Paradise Beach but I dont think Unusual Destiniations use it but it but you must tell them it is worth a look at!!

Anyhow just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed ourselves the island is just how you would imagine a Paradise Island with all the different coloured blues of the sea and the turtles were amazing. They got us up at 3.00 am in the morning to watch a really old girl lay her eggs and cover them and make her way back to the sea and then a couple of days later another batch of eggs hatched and we were able to see the baby turtles get out of their shells and make their way down to the sea - only to be eaten by lots of fish that gather. Apparently thats why only 10% survive.

Anyway enough about me thanks again Florina and we will be in touch next year dont think you can get rid of us that easily.

Santa Botha - Honeymoon La Gemma Dell Est - Zanzibar:

Danell Odendaal - Group Holiday Zanzibar Zi Villa:

" Alles was great. Die drankies was great behalwe dat ons geen diet koeldranke kon kry nie en ons het `n diabeet saam met ons gehad.Kos was great, die huis stunning. WAS STUNNING!!!!!"

Hanneke & Gerry Brynard - Zanzibar holiday:

"Ons is weer terug en wil net se dit was n fantastiese ervaring. Arabian nights is heerlike akkommodasie en mooi skoon. Die Chavada hotel was ook goed, dink selfs lekkerder as Dhow Palace! Die transfers was uitstekend en ons sal beslis so reis aanbeveel en veral jou as reisagent! Dankie vir n onvergeetlike ervaring!"

Andante Rust - Soweto Day Tour:

"Our guests were very happy with the tour, thank you. They just wished they could have spent more time there!"

"Net 'n groot duisende dankies vir 'n fantastiese tyd by Serenity. Ek is soooo bly ons het op dit besluit, ideaal vir romanse en Leila was wonderlik met die hospitality. Sal dit beslis aanraai vir enige paartjie wat net alleen saam wil wees. Hoop om gou weer soontoe te gaan!"

Gill Davis - Coral Rock Beach Bungalows - Zanzibar:

We had, as usual, a wonderful time in Zanzibar. The handling of all our travel was perfect, we were collected on time from the airport and received without any issues at Coral Rock. Coral Rock again proved a perfect laid back getaway with the staff remembering us from last year and showing their joy with hugs and greetings.

We did not get the "new" rooms which we were expecting, but settled in to what we were given without any problems (this would probably be an issue with folk who thought they had secured certain rooms, especially those who have been to CR before).
There are certainly areas which could still be improved upon i.e. the breakfasts are still very bland and the "out of stocks" of common drinks could also prove an irritation to those who lack patience. I would so love to be given the job of sorting out the "little issues" which would turn CR into an even more amazing venue like renewing all the bed linen which has now seen it's day as have the mattresses, increasing the size of the kitchen so that the food comes out more speedily, etc. But saying all that Florina, the place has a special spot in our hearts and sometimes change makes destinations like these just like "all the others" - we go there because it's so laid back and we always feel as though we've been away for months so perhaps it's the kwirky uniqueness that gets into our hearts and souls, not to mention the incredible beauty of the place. Neil Cave, the owner, is an amazingly helpful, kind person whose main aim is to make the guests feel at home and to do whatever it takes to ensure that they have an unforgettable time.

Thank you Florina for the follow-up - you will be hearing from us again and too from other relatives who have seen the pictures and are already planning to go next year.

Cathy Reck - Kilima Kidogo and Amaan Bungalows - Zanzibar:

Our holiday was fantastic!

Kilima Kidigo : run by twin sisters, Afrikaans speaking, from George in Western Cape. They could NOT have done enough to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. The room was very comfortable with enormous king size bed and the aircon worked just fine. Although the guest house is only 2 years old, they are renovating the bathrooms to a higher standard and putting in fresh municipal water as the tap and shower water is sea water at the moment. The food was good – better than at Amaan. You eat all meals in the beach bar in summer. The sea swimming is not great as very tidal but it is fine to swim when the tide in. The beach was Filthy – lots of plastic pollution, plastic bottles/ bags and seaweeds. They tend to keep the beach in front of them clean, as does the Italian Hotel next door. The Italian Hotel has an awesome pool and the owner is so fond of the twins so he lets their guests use his stunning pool and pool loungers to lie on under the palms. Fantastic. Dina, the main twin, arranges anything – from dow trips to the reef, to snorkelling, to trips to Stone town – anything. Nothing is too much. They took pictures of us and put them on a cd for everyone. It was great. If I had to be negative, I would say: I would prefer to be somewhere away from South African culture and South Africans. I would like to have had more of the Zanzibar feel. But, this is a personal thing. They did all say that Coral Rock is horrific since the previous manageress left so I am glad we did not get in there.

Amaan – we were collected without a hitch by Exotic tours and had a most comfortable drive up to Amaan. Amaan was a bit of a shock but then being one star, we kind of expected it. The place is big but the sea rooms are lovely with big balconies. We did not like the room they put us in and they were amazing! They showed us about 5 other sea facing rooms and let us have our pic. All freshly painted, new aircons (quiet), nice bed (dreadfully dirty pillows under the covers), and nice decks. Generally the place is SHABBY and dirty outside, littered. The stairs down to the sea broken (I twisted my ankle on it). The restaurant is awful. The breakfast even worse. The setting – awesome. Value for money – very good.

Lots of places to walk to and to eat at. We walked a lot to the beach at Plan Hotel (a Swiss venture – they have built Mapenzi Beach Club and another one- website is www.planhotel.com.) My next trip will be to this one on Nungwe – all meals and drinks included in the rate – beach and pool spotless as can be expected from the Swiss and the Sea Swimming the best on the island – clear waters and loads of fantastic snorkelling just off the edge. Out of Season is 1 April – most of the Hotels had already closed for the 3 month wet season but this one stays open all year. So, I am saving for that already…..!!

I will send some pictures a little later.

I can't thank you enough for arranging our trip. You were amazing and thanks to you, everything went without a hitch! Thanks a ton!!!

A friend of mine in Johannesburg is wanting to arrange an Island holiday for her family (5 adults) in September – I will give her your details and visa versa.

John & Zelda Mullen - Kilima Kidogo - Zanzibar - June 09:

Hi, thanks for email. Yes sadly we are home again!!!!! We had a fantastic time and would recommend it to anyone. From our first contact with you, right to the end - well, the service was great.

We were met at the airport and taken to lodge -Kilima Kidogo, where we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel so at home - nothing was to much effort. Rooms are beautiful - clean, large, very pleasant. bathrooms modern. Food was great and always so much of. staff are really great and always made you feel so special. the weather was unbelievable!!!!!! I could write a book on it all, but it wouldnt be able to describe how fantastic it all was. Although it was low season - not hundreds of people around, we never felt like some did - lost or only guests in a huge empty hotel. The beach is kept beautifully clean. Bar was always stocked up with ice cold beer (and cooldrinks)- even learnt a bit of the lingo "beer baradi sana" Ice cold beer please. Thank you - asanti sana. Had a bit of rain there - is rainy season, but wasnt bad - short showers. Weather was really fantastic. Thank goodness rooms are airconditioned and have fans, could be very hot and uncomfortable in summer without this. Went to Stone Town a couple of times. Had some great meals there. - even tried the "local" bus - Duladula - was great, got to talk to local people. went on a spice tour - very interesting, went out on a "cruise", snorkled, ate wonderful seafood, walked for miles and miles on beautiful beaches. saw wonderful sunsets, sipping ice cold beer.Hired a car one day - wouldnt do it without a guide, roads not well marked and we got lost a lot - not huge big place to get lost in, but we prop. drove past things/places we could have seen more of. but it was different. would be worth getting your international drivers lic - was quiet expensive getting one for the one day, which we wouldnt have had to pay if we had had international drivers. We really couldnt have asked for more - Dina and her wonderful staff, were just that - WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much.Even customs in zanzibar, getting visas was great! very efficient, quick and polite. great place, with great people!!!!!! Would def recommend it to anyone and would love to go back.

will email some photos when my feet have touched ground
