Tailor-Made TravelThis safari in South Africa runs on request throughout the year. We can tailor-make a private safari to meet your departure date, time period, group size and budget. Contact us for further information. The itineraries of the safaris are very similar, with each additional day extending your time in the bush and increasing your chances of seeing your favourite animal, bird, insect or snake!
ItineraryDay 1: You will be collected from your hotel early in the morning and transferred to the Kruger National Park gate. The journey takes approximately five hours with stops along the way. You will meet your ranger at a lovely bush pub at the edge of the reserve, where you will sign the indemnity forms and have lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to one of our bush camps in Klaserie or Timbavati Private Nature Reserve to begin your adventure.
Day 2-3:On the next few days of your safari in South Africa, we set off at dawn after a snack of rusks and coffee/tea. We will either walk directly from camp or use a vehicle to get even further out. Your ranger will decipher the tracks left by passing animals during the night. On these walks, you will see a range of trees, plants, insects and birds as well as wildlife. A big breakfast is prepared back in camp and you will be able to unwind during the heat of the day; after lunch it is time to head out again. The afternoon activity is a walk/drive combination, looking for tracks and activity in other areas. After the walk, we drive to a beautiful spot in the reserve to enjoy sundowners as we watch a stunning African Sunset. We then connect the spotlight and enjoy a thrilling night drive back to camp, looking for nocturnal creatures that are so rarely seen during the day. Back at camp, a hearty supper and a warm campfire waits for you, you will then be able to sneak off to bed and listen to the sounds of the night under a blanket of overwhelming African stars.
Day 4:On the day of departure, you will go for one last walk. Sniffing the typical scents of the bush, you'll realise how much you've learned already. After breakfast, it's time to pack up and go back to the bush pub, where you will pay the Conservation Fee and any drinks you've consumed in our camps before you are transferred back to your hotel in the city.
