Safari DescriptionThis camping tour in the Western Cape is a
motorbike safari that takes travellers across the region, covering some of the best bike riding roads in the country. Groups consist of a maximum of ten bikers, as well as a professional guide. A support vehicle and trailer which carries luggage and camping equipment also joins the tour to meet up with bikers at designated campsites each evening.
Bikers should have a certain level of competence to ensure that they get the most from the tour, and all bikers must be a minimum of 25 years old. Camping equipment will be provided, however all travellers are advised to bring their own protective clothing and crash helmets.

ItineraryDay 1: Cape Town, Bainskloof PassWe depart in the morning from Cape Town on route to Franschhoek, where we visit a wine farm to sample fine local wine. We continue through the winelands over Bainskloof Pass to the mountainside campsite at Tweede Tol where you will enjoy dinner under the canopy of pine and oak. Bainskloof Pass opened in September 1853 and was built by Andrew Geddes Bain after whom it was named. Bainskloof Pass offers breathtaking views and stunning natural fynbos and forests.
Day 2: Bainskloof Pass, BarrydaleWe start the day off early, heading towards the Overberg area via the scenic town of Swellendam, which offers a glimpse of the past with beautiful gables, homesteads and out-of-town hospitality. We continue along the N2 towards Barrydale, and then camp the night at Warmwaterberg spa resort.
Day 3: Barrydale, OudtshoornAfter breakfast we head towards Oudtshoorn with its balmy climate, festive locals and famous ostriches. You will be able to explore the expansive and breath-taking cave system of the world-famous Cango Caves or even visit an ostrich farm and ride one of these giant birds. Oudtshoorn is a firm favourite on all holidays in Africa.
Day 4: Oudtshoorn, WildernessDescending the N2, we head for the coast of Wilderness, a town with spectacular ocean, forest and mountain views. We hike to Rus en Vrede Waterfall and enjoy the tranquillity in this peaceful setting. We then camp alongside the river in Wilderness National Park, and spend a peaceful night under the African sky.
Day 5: Wilderness, BredasdorpOn the penultimate day of this motorcycle safari in South Africa, we start circling back towards Cape Town as we head west out of Wilderness towards the De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Overberg. We spend the day exploring the wetlands, fynbos lowland and the abundance of mammal, plant and bird species.
Day 6: Cape TownWe continue along the rocky coastline towards the Mother City. Fortune favours the brave as we head along Chapman's Peak to conclude our thrilling motorbike tour. Take to the open road and embark on an unforgettable adventure across some of the most beautiful landscapes in the region as you enjoy this fantastic Western Cape camping experience.
