The Kenya Camping Safari itinerary:
(Meal key: (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (D) Dinner)
Day 1: Nairobi to Selenkay
On Sunday we meet and transfer you to your camping safari vehicle. You will then be driven from Nairobi to the Selenkay Conservation Area. The trip takes approximately three hours (it covers 100 miles) and on arrival we enjoy a late lunch before setting up camp. An evening game drive allows us to explore the Conservation Area before settling in for our evening meal.
Day 2:
On Monday, we partake of an early breakfast and then proceed to drive through the bush into Amboseli National Park. Here we enjoy views of Kilimanjaro and close-up observation of elephants as well as many other species. We then return to Selenkay, stopping over for a picnic lunch en route. The afternoon is spent walking with Masai trackers, after which dinner is served and we set out for a night drive to observe nocturnal fauna.
Day 3:
On Tuesday morning we drive back in the direction of Nairobi and on to the Kigio Conservancy (165 miles) with a picnic lunch en route. We set up camp and then take an evening walk in the Kigio Conservancy. Dinner is served at the camp.
Day 4:
Day four of our exciting Kenya camping safari sees us rising early to enjoy a continental breakfast and then departing for a full day at Lake Nakuru National Park which includes a picnic lunch. The main attraction at Lake Nakuru has to be the vast flocks of flamingos that frequent its warm waters, although visitors can also expect to see rhino, leopard and many other animal species. We return to camp for dinner.
Day 5:
On Thursday morning after breakfast we pack up camp and proceed to Siana Springs Group Ranch in the Masai Mara (140 miles) to set up camp. We break for lunch and then take a leisurely afternoon drive into the surrounding area to see some of the wildlife the area is renowned for. We return to the camp for dinner.
Day 6:
Friday morning breakfast is followed by a full day spent exploring the Mara region. We partake of a picnic lunch and return to camp in time for dinner.
Day 7:
On Saturday morning, we enjoy a final early morning game drive followed by breakfast and then pack up camp and return to Nairobi (180 miles, four hours). We arrive at around 1 pm.
We advise our clients to book well in advance for our Kenya camping safaris. These excursions are very popular and spaces tend to fill up quickly.
