Papillion Lagoon Reef hotel has a total of 119 rooms, which is small in comparison to some of the other hotels in Mombasa. There are also 25 cottage rooms, 76 garden cottages and 18 beachfront rooms.
The cottage rooms are modest, yet comfortable enough for any family looking for the perfect African vacation. Located at the back of the lodge, these rooms consist of a double bed in the main area, and then an adjoining section (separated by a curtain) which have two single beds. If you are a family with children and you wish to share the same room, then these would be ideal. There is one bathroom and the rooms are large, so you could easily fit two adults and two children.
The garden cottages are exceptional, located in storey blocks and all overlooking the stunning gardens. The cottages are the second closest residency to the beach. These rooms are modest, yet spacious and extremely comfortable and all contain en-suite shower facilities.
The beachfront rooms are the most luxurious and are of course, located close to the beach. These rooms are the largest with a couple of extras in them, such as satellite TV, mini bar and Lamu style four poster bed. The bathrooms have a shower and bath plus a telephone and baby cot if you might require it. These rooms tend to be the most popular, so book early to avoid potential disappointment. All rooms come standard with air conditioners, fans, a safe, mosquito nets and balcony.
